Hey! I'm Baxter (Sean Baxter for the formal folks). After an exciting 15-year run as a filmmaker, I found my true calling as a UX practitioner 15 years ago. Hey, watch it, don't do the math. As the founder of Misfit Island, LLC, I lead employee engagement and customer experience research in Colorado, keeping my finger on the pulse of emerging cultural trends. Now, I've transformed that business into a community-building education hub.
My superpower? I'm a certified workshop facilitator (trained with HFI, NNG, and Voltage Control) and passionate about bringing collaborative problem-solving to organizations. I stay sharp by participating in weekly events with a worldwide facility group.
I bring both qualitative and quantitative research chops to the table—from ethnography and IDIs to surveys, usability testing, and data analytics. I've worked my magic with amazing companies like Cisco, Toyota, HPE, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and Esko.
When I'm not transforming user experiences, you'll find me coaching youth Basketball, playing chess, gaming, or creating music. And yes, I still dabble in filmmaking—I can't completely shake that first love!
Fun Facts
Oh yeah, I did something pretty cool in both careers: I lensed an award-winning feature film and co-chaired an international design conference. Cheers to creativity.
